Objectives:

Design, implement, and evaluate performance and cost of several low-cost LID techniques. Monitor the ability of the LID techniques to reduce pollution leaving the site and to retain storm water on site.

General Construction Information:

Compact, clustered development featuring age-restricted townhouses, apartments for the elderly, and affordable housing with the goal of preserving 50 percent of the land in a natural condition.

Significant Results:

The bioretention stormwater treatment system and associated infiltration basin handled without incident the record amounts of rainfall and stormwater runoff in October 2005 which caused many other stormwater retention ponds in New Hampshire to overtop—with some sustaining structural damage.
