HUD created a planned series of nine guidebooks to inform the design and construction industry about state-of-the-art materials and innovative practices in housing rehabilitation.
The fourth volume, entitled The Rehab Guide: Windows & Doors covers repair and rehabilitation of existing windows and doors as well as new technologies that increase energy savings and decrease maintenance costs. It uses drawings and photographs to supplement written descriptions of window and door rehabilitation, including:
- Glazing
- Window frames and replacement units
- Skylights
- Doors and frames
- Hardware
- Caulking, sealants, and weatherstripping
- Shutters and awnings
