General Construction Information:

Existing, 1,270-square-foot, single-family home

Significant Results:
  • The combination of PATH technologies and conventional technologies employed in the energy retrofit resulted in an annual electricity use reduction (normalized for weather) of 32 percent and annual gas savings of 27percent.
  • Homeowners did not need to sacrifice comfort or lifestyle to achieve the energy reductions.
  • A total retrofit cost of $11,398 consisted of $2,805 worth of energy-efficiency upgrades and a simple payback of 4.7 years.
