Hurricane Resistant Façade Panels
A lightweight composite curtain wall panel that can withstand airborne debris impacting at 35 mph and wind speeds of 130 mph.
One hurricane resistant facade panel combines a lightweight and flexible aluminum composite wall panel with a layer of Kevlar (a high-strength proprietary polyamide fabric) to form an impact resistant wall panel capable of withstanding projectiles and winds of a category 3 hurricane. The panel consists of a polyethylene and Kevlar core encased in an aluminum skin. It is most often used in curtain wall applications as cladding installed over steel studs without the use of sheathing because the panels can create a water impervious barrier.
Panels are special ordered in minimum quantities and can be manufactured to specific designs. Several color finishes are available for the aluminum skin, and the option of dry or wet seal is available.
