Heating System:

  • Side-by-side comparison of two heating systems installed in the same home operated for alternating two-week periods
  • Costs of each system gathered and qualitative information collected about perceived comfort, and contractor installation and design issues

Air Admittance Valves:

  • Document building code issues and permitting requirements for AAVs
  • Interview code officials and trade contractors regarding installation and performance
  • Monitor installation to obtain practical installation information for trade contractors
  • Record labor and material cost for AAVs
